The students are assessed on labs, tests/quizzes, homework, class work, and projects. All assignments will be given point values; for example a test might be worth from 25-50 pts, a lab might be worth 20-50 pts and a homework assignment might be worth 5-20 pts. The point value for all assignments will vary. Points will be accumulated for an entire marking period and a grade will be determined from the total points the student earned against the total points for that marking period. All assignments must be completed and turned in on time. Points will be deducted for every day an assignment is late. |

Textbooks |

Students will receive a different textbook for each of the units of study in science. They will be given a textbook at the beginning of each unit and it will be returned at the end of that unit. The textbook needs to be covered and remain covered at all times. Students will be required to take home their textbook for assignments and bring it back to school the next day for class. They are expected to bring their textbook to class everyday. Students will have to pay for any lost textbooks or damages. |
