Tips for Success in Biology Class:
*Come into class EVERYDAY awake and ready to work.
*Take notes neatly, thinking about what you are writing as you are writing it. Organize your class notes, outlines from text reading and class handouts in a binder so that all of the information is grouped by topic/chapter and readily available for review and test preparation.
*Review your class notes daily. Review all of the week’s work on the weekend.
*Make a vocabulary list.
*Set up a study group with other students in the class.
*Ask questions.
*Search for your own answers in your text or on the Internet.
*Come to me for help after school (by appointment) and don’t wait until the day before the test.
*Keep up with the homework, reading and studying. “Cramming” for this course will result in an insufficient learning experience and lower quiz, test and exam scores than what you are capable of.
*Work hard; ask questions when you cannot find the answers and be an ACTIVE PARTICIPANT in the class.
