The American Revolution

The American Revolution changed the world forever. With bold determination, Great Britain's 13 North American colonies declared their independence from British rule in 1776. The war for American independence lasted until 1783, ending with victory for the under-estimated Continental Army and their leader, George Washington. The war's outcome gave birth to a new nation that would eventually expand and flourish into one of the greatest nations the world has ever seen. Without the intelligence and bravery displayed by the American colonists, the United States would not be the nation it is today.
