The Spanish exchange is program that enables Penncrest students to meet students from Spain and learn about their culture. The program runs evrey other year and is open to students in Spanish IV and V. Students from Spain travel to Media in the fall and live with a student and his/her family. While in Media the students visit many local sights. In the spring Penncrest students travel to Spain and live with the same student who lived with them in the fall. |
This school year (2004-05) is a Spanish exchange year. In September, 21 students from Spain and three teachers traveled to Media from Tavernes, Spain. Both the Penncrest students and the Spanish students had a wonderful three weeks together. Penncrest students are looking forward to traveling to Spain in April. |
The Immersion Program allows students to experience the culture of a Spanish-speaking country. This program runs every other year (the opposite year of the Exchange program). Students travel with teachers to another country for nine days, learning about the culture and speaking Spanish. |
Last April twelve students and two teachers (myself included) traveled to Costa Rica. We traveled to San Jose, Tortuguero, La Fortuna and Puntarenas. The Immersion Program will run again in the Spring of 2007. Stay tuned for more information! |
